Kitty Flats: Charlotte Olympia vs Zara

Being a cat lover, I had a major obsession with the Charlotte Olympia kitty flats when they first came out! I was finally able to nab a pair from Bergdorf Goodman online (still available in select sizes here, and also in fuchsia here) for $282.50 when they went on sale.. which is 50% off original price of $565.  They are unbelievably comfortable with no break-in period required.  I would recommend to order the next half size up, so I ended up with a 37.

Then I came across these kitty flats by Zara.  Unfortunately, they only come in girls sizes up to 5.  They were too cute to pass up and were only $35.90.  I bought the size 5 and I think they are an equivalent to a women's 7.  They don't possess the same craftsmanship as Charlotte Olympia.  They are a little stiff, and will probably require heel pads because they might blister my feet.  I'll probably keep these and use them as a back up pair and not worry about dirtying them.

New Chanel Flats

Just wanted to share my purchase from the spring sale!  Chanel flats in a metallic silver! They almost look like a lilac shade in different lighting. It is not as form fitting as other Chanel flats because of the elasticated heel. I do love their little logo adorned on the toe area. Ended up getting them for $267 which is 55% off of $595 from Nordies.  Not bad at all for flats by Chanel.  Tried them on today and they are feeling mighty tight.. hopefully they will break in after a few uses.  I really hope they work for me! Reviewers say these shoes are best for people with narrow feet.  Even with my narrow feet, they still feel constricting. hmm..

The Row x Toms

About a month ago, I was able to nab a pair of these for 60% off from Aloha Rag making them about $56.  I ended up returning the shearling lined ones to Nordstrom since I bought a half size too large.  For Toms I recommend ordering your true size.  I wear 6.5 US and the 6.5 fit perfectly.   The ones I bought are called the Alexandria Classics in black.  I like these because the entire shoe is black including the sole and the fabric is made from a comfy cashmere blend.  Not sure how these will hold up but we'll see.

I think Ashley's outfit below convinced me to get a pair and that they aren't that hideous as described by others.

Shearling lined TOMS

So in the wintertime, many of us are smitten with the warm fleece lining in Ugg boots, so TOMs has created a Nordstrom exclusive shoe with fleece lining!  Reasonably priced at $59.95, the neutral colored slip on shoe is made with a Herringbone outer fabric lined with soft cozy fleece to keep our feet cushy during chilly days.

Still available here at Nordstrom.

Lanvin Suede Moccasins

I got these a while back in December when they were 60% off (second cut) on the Barney's website.  Previously, I've only been familar with their ballet scrunch flats.  For this style I take a 37 which is only a half size bigger than my normal and for their ballet flats I take a full size up, 37.5.  They are by far the comfiest flats I've ever owned.  They are padded around the sides to provide extra cushion when walking.  There is also a hidden wedge heel to give a little extra support.  Although suede is not my favorite shoe material by choice, it definitely goes with the moccasin style.  Lanvin has adorned these flats with a complementing grosgrain ribbon.  There were two choices that were on sale, the black and the beige.  I decided to go with the beige since I didn't own any nude colored shoes yet.

It has been nice out the last couple of weeks so I was able to wear them out on a shopping trip with my son and they were totally comfortable.  After a couple hours of wear, I had no pain or blisters of any sort which my narrow feet are prone to with new shoes. They go great with skinny pants! I totally recommend a pair of Lanvins if you're in the market for a pair of flats.  They may be pricey but usually during the season sales you can get them for 30-40% off and even more if your size makes it to the second cut.  Lanvin has pretty much perfected the ballet flat, no other brands compare in regards to fit.  Tried and true in my experience.  Hopefully I'll remember to take some modeling pictures for future posts!
