Chan Luu's Zebra Print Scarf vs Louis Vuitton Stole

I nabbed up this cute Chan Luu scarf from Garnet Hill on sale for $98 which is now sold out.  It was the only cashmere/silk one they had left in the zebra print (moss/nude color).  I love these types of scarves because they are so light weight and comfortable.  I do have a few pure cashmere scarves that I hardly wear because I feel kind of suffocated when in them.

In comparison to the Louis Vuitton Leopard Stole that I have, I must say they are fairly similar with slight differences.  Both have the same material composition at 70% cashmere and 30% silk.  The Louis Vuitton stole measures at 51.2"x78.7" (130x200cm) and Chan Luu's scarf measures at 62"x58" (157.5x147.3cm).  Although both are very soft, I would say Louis Vuitton wins with softness because the Chan Luu has a slightly coarser weave but its almost unnoticeable.  They both have fringed ends but Louis Vuitton has the finer "eyelash" fringe and the Chan Luu has the tassel fringe.  The price difference is huge with the Louis Vuitton retailing for $860 and the Chan Luu going for $245 (printed) or $195 (solid color).

I highly recommend a Chan Luu cashmere scarf into your collection.  These scarves are so versatile and definitely add a nice little pop to your outfit.  They do have sales from time to time so you can get one for a good price.  I also love that she comes out with many different prints and colors!  Next on my list is a solid color one in shale here! (I actually want them all!)

Louis Vuitton Leopard Stole

I had been contemplating purchasing this for a while and finally bit the bullet.  I really wanted the gray one but they only had the brown one available which I'm glad for since it will inject a little color into my outfits. The prettiest part of the scarf is the pink logo! I've worn it several times already and the cashmere silk mix is so soft and I like the size of it because I can tie it many different ways!  I also love this Balenciaga foulard scarf which is so pretty in violet. I hope it goes on sale so I can nab that one.

Isabel Marant Doris Linen Tee

French fashion designer Isabel Marant's RTW and shoes have become wildly popular over the past few seasons.  I've been eyeing her linen tees for the last few weeks and finally bit the bullet and got one from Barneys.  I'm not proud of the price I paid, but it was totally worth it.  It is definitely not your average tee.  I love the scoop v neckline, the longer cut, the asymmetrical hem and the flattering cap sleeves.  She's pretty much perfected the t-shirt! There has never been a t-shirt that has made me so happy! Now I'm waiting for the other colors to make it to the first cut sales and will probably treat myself to those too.

The one I purchased was the Doris tee in rose pink is now sold out, but for F/W 2012, Ms. Marant has a new style linen tee called the Rider.

Givenchy Pandora Medium

I purchased this bag last year from Bergdorf Goodman and have been using it almost every day!  It is my new favorite casual bag that is so versatile! The wrinkled sheepskin is my favorite type of leather that has softened up with use over time.  I also love that I can carry it as a shoulder bag two different ways by the single handle or the shoulder strap and I can also carry it messenger style as well.

It is very roomy and can hold much more than the essentials.  I carry my Chanel wallet and cosmetic case and LV Agenda with no problem and can hold much more.  The interior has 3 pockets - a zip compartment, a scrunch pocket for your cell phone and a pocket beside it for other random things.  There is also a large front zip pocket which is where I usually keep my phone for easy access.  Finally, there is a teeny magnetic snap button pocket that fits your ID or any sort of credit card.

It has held up fairly well over the past 6 months and the only signs of wear was some slight rubbing on the corners.  Fortunately, I was able to cover that up with a few dabs of Edge Kote.  I swear this is my miracle bag product for fixing up corners or rough edges.

I also like that the hardware is a light gold that can almost look like silver at times.  Its like having the best of both worlds because sometimes yellow gold can look too fancy for some occasions.

The fall sale has started! Many Givenchy bags including several styles of Pandora and Nightingale have been generously marked down at Barneys! Check it out.
