Vanity Table Inspiration

Ever since we moved, I had high hopes of finding a spot in our bedroom and setting up a makeshift desk/vanity table.  Our last home had lots of dark furniture so I thought it would be a nice change to lighten up our color choices.  My first choice would have been the Meredith desk at Pottery Barn.  I was very close to pulling the trigger and buying it, but didn't since it was higher than what I wanted to spend.

Space is a premium in our home, so I decided to go with a smaller desk.  Ultimately, the West Elm Mini Parsons desk was the best fit.  It was smaller in size .. only about 30" wide and had a very simple and sleek look.  I like the white lacquer finish since it seems resistant to dents and dings and scratches like wood might be.

I was inspired by this photo that I found on decor pad:

The chair I bought is from Jordan's Furniture in the children's section.  It is still a standard sized desk chair.  I chose one with cushion because I know it hurts after sitting a while without one.

So I know I wanted a tray to keep the beauty items on, a mirror and lamp.  I got the marble tray in cream from Restoration Hardware since I thought it would go nicely against the white.

I ordered the lamp from PBTeen when they were having an additional 15% off clearance and got the lamp for only $27 shipped!  I wasn't sure about the Lattice lamp shade but I think it goes well.

The lighted mirror by Conair is from Bed Bath and Beyond.  It was a little bit pricy but I got it as a birthday present.  I enjoy the 5x magnification and the light is very useful.

Current/Elliot "The Girlfriend" Shorts in Cosmic

I've been spending my entire summer in shorts and decided to add to my collection with two pairs.  A pair of Siwy Hannah in "It's Magic" and these colorful ones by Current/Elliot for less than $50 because they are on sale at Shopbop!  You can also price match them from Revolve Clothing which is what I did in order to get my size.  I got size 23 and it fits snug but bearable.  I'm also dying to pull the trigger on the stiletto jean in this wash too!

Vibrant colors and various patterns/prints are in this season for jeans, pants and shorts!  I love this pair especially because of the colors.. it's like a pinkish/purple/blue tie dye combination.

I also wanted to show a comparison between my other two tie dye skinny jeans that I got a couple years back.. one by J Brand in Cult (sold out) and Siwy Hannah in Blackstorm

When wearing these, I like to keep my top and choice of footwear simple.  I ended up wearing the shorts with my black Lanvin ballerina flats and this whisper top by Splendid.

Wanted: Proenza Schouler Purple Rain

I am a sucker for pretty purple accessories and this season Proenza Schouler's newest shade of purple has caught my eye.  Recently, I have learned to downsize the items in my bag and carry smaller sized bags like my Celine Nano and Givenchy Mini Pandora.  That's a good thing for me since carrying too much causes shoulder pain and a lot of times I only use a fraction of the items in my larger bags!  Plus I've come to realization that large bags tend to swallow my small frame. Crossbody bags are all the rage right now.  I love the hands free option that a lot of designers are offering.

Ideally, I'd love to get the PS1 Pouch in the Purple Rain... but I like a lot of the styles Proenza has to offer.  Purple Rain is a very interesting color that has a lot of blue tones so it may come off as a blue in different lighting.

The 3 styles that I am coveting:

PS1 POUCH $1325
PS11 CLASSIC $1950

New Chanel Flats

Just wanted to share my purchase from the spring sale!  Chanel flats in a metallic silver! They almost look like a lilac shade in different lighting. It is not as form fitting as other Chanel flats because of the elasticated heel. I do love their little logo adorned on the toe area. Ended up getting them for $267 which is 55% off of $595 from Nordies.  Not bad at all for flats by Chanel.  Tried them on today and they are feeling mighty tight.. hopefully they will break in after a few uses.  I really hope they work for me! Reviewers say these shoes are best for people with narrow feet.  Even with my narrow feet, they still feel constricting. hmm..
